2,450 New Nasarawa Civil Servants Begin Professional Induction
About 2,450 newly employed civil servants are expected to participate in the 2026 Professional Officers Induction Course in Nasarawa State.
The programme, organised by the Office of the State Head of Civil Service, is designed to familiarise participants with the structure, rules, procedures and core values of the civil service.
With the theme, “Building a Professional, Ethical and People-Centred Civil Service,” the 2026 Professional Officers Induction Course is aimed at equipping newly recruited officers with the essential knowledge and understanding required to function effectively within the Nasarawa State Civil Service.
Declaring the induction course open, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission, Musa Dangana, described the programme as important and timely.
He urged the participants to actively participate in all activities lined up for the course, stressing that successful completion of the induction programme would formally prepare them for the responsibilities and expectations associated with their roles as civil servants in the state.
In a remark, the Nasarawa State Head of Civil Service, Abigail Waya, explained that professional competence alone was not sufficient for an officer to function effectively within the government system.
She noted that the civil service operates within established laws, rules, procedures and institutional structures, which every civil servant must understand and adhere to in the course of discharging official responsibilities.
The Head of Civil Service also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing an enabling environment for civil servants to operate effectively in the state.
She urged the participants to pay close attention to the two-week programme and take every aspect of the training seriously.
Some of the participants interviewed, including Bawa Yahaya Ainaka, Adago Farida Yusuf and Samu Mary Oyiwogu, described the induction course as timely and beneficial.
