Keffi East Lawmaker Pledges Inclusive Representation Ahead Of 2027
The member representing Keffi East Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, John Ovey, has reiterated his commitment to providing inclusive and quality representation to his constituents if re-elected in the 2027 General Elections.
Ovey made the commitment when youths from Angwan Jaba Polling Unit of Jigwada Electoral Ward in Keffi Local Government Area paid him a solidarity visit at his residence in Keffi.
Speaking during the visit by youths of Angwan Jaba Polling Unit, the member representing Keffi East Constituency, John Ovey, thanked the youths for their support and confidence in his leadership.
He assured them that, if given another mandate in 2027, he would continue to promote inclusiveness and initiatives that would benefit the people of Keffi East Constituency.
“We will continue to provide quality and inclusive representation. Our focus is on the development and wellbeing of all our constituents, irrespective of their background.”
The lawmaker also called on the youths to approach the 2027 elections with a sense of responsibility and elect candidates based on competence, capacity, character and track record.
He cautioned them against allowing ethnicity, religion or political affiliation to determine their choice of leaders, saying that a candidate’s ability to deliver meaningful development should be the major consideration.
Earlier, while reaffirming their loyalty and unwavering support for the lawmaker, the Youth Leaders of Angwan Jaba, Jigwada Ward, Shuaibu Usman and Jibril ???, said the visit was, among other things, to appreciate the lawmaker for facilitating the establishment of a Government Junior Secondary School in the area.
They also commended his outstanding commitment to the development of the constituency so far.
Meanwhile, residents and commuters in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, including Shuaibu Doma and Jibril Ahmed Suleiman, have appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to prevail on the company handling the construction of the Mararaba Flyover to provide a temporary U-turn to ease traffic congestion and reduce the hardship being experienced by motorists.
Shuaibu and Jibril made the appeal in exclusive interviews with NBS News, following prolonged traffic gridlock occasioned by the ongoing construction.
They noted that the construction of the Mararaba Flyover is part of efforts to address persistent traffic congestion along the Mararaba-Nyanya corridor, one of the busiest routes connecting Nasarawa State with the Federal Capital Territory.
However, they said the construction work has resulted in the closure of some existing U-turns, forcing motorists heading in the opposite direction to make longer diversions through Nyanya or Royal Dreams.
“The traffic is really affecting us. Sometimes you leave Mararaba and you spend hours before getting to where you are going because there is no place to make a U-turn.”
Shuaibu Doma and Jibril Ahmed Suleiman also acknowledged the importance of the flyover project and commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for efforts aimed at improving traffic movement and addressing the persistent congestion in the Mararaba-Karu axis.
