Nasarawa To Expand Rural Roads, Basic Amenities
The Nasarawa State Government says it is determined to improve the well-being of rural dwellers through the construction of more roads and the provision of basic social amenities.
Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the commitment when the Forum of Local Government Legislators from the Northern Senatorial District of the state paid him a solidarity visit.
The legislators across the three local governments of Nasarawa North visited Governor Abdullahi Sule to identify with his goodwill, as they assured him of their resolve to reach out to the people at the grassroots.
Leading the delegation, the Speaker of the Wamba Local Government Legislative Council, Shuaibu Saleh Lado, expressed the collective support of all members of the legislative arms of Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba Local Government Councils for the Governor’s aspiration for the Senate.
Not unmindful of their efforts at projecting the image and strengthening the affairs of government, Governor Abdullahi Sule reiterated his administration’s focus on ensuring the provision of water and other basic social amenities for the benefit of people in the hinterland.
The Governor called for effective synergy between the local legislative arm and the executive to further enhance the chances of attracting more development and implementing other initiatives that would touch the lives of people at the grassroots.
Before the visit by the local government legislators, it would be recalled that during the last meeting of the Nasarawa State Executive Council, approval was given for the construction of more roads that would connect rural and hard-to-reach communities across the state.
