Sule Assures Cultural Associations Of Support For Nasarawa Development
Governor Abdullahi Sule says his administration is open to opinions and views that are focused on the development of Nasarawa State and the wellbeing of its people.
The Governor stated this while receiving in audience the Forum of Presidents of Cultural Associations in the state.
Welcoming the group, Governor Abdullahi Sule encouraged its members to ensure that their activities go beyond politics and are instead centred on promoting unity among all the people of Nasarawa State.
The Governor explained that the vision of the group aligns with his administration’s vision for Nasarawa State, stressing that his government remains committed to connecting rural communities through the construction of more roads and bridges.
He said that, apart from road construction, his administration has also prioritised development in the areas of education, healthcare and electricity, among others, as part of efforts to improve the lives of the people of Nasarawa State.
The forum, which serves as the umbrella body for cultural associations across the thirteen local government areas and eighteen area administrative councils, identified with Governor Abdullahi Sule’s commitment to peace and the socio-economic development of Nasarawa State.
Leading the delegation, Chairman of the Forum, Cletus Inji, appreciated the Governor for prioritising the provision of basic amenities, ranging from roads and electricity to education and healthcare facilities across the state.
The leaders of the socio-cultural associations in the state also used the visit to seek the government’s attention towards improved infrastructure, healthcare services, electrification and agricultural interventions in rural communities that are yet to benefit from such initiatives.
While highlighting other needs, including the need to take skills acquisition programmes to the grassroots, the Forum of Presidents of Cultural Associations also emphasised the importance of inclusion, saying it would further strengthen the government’s development agenda at the grassroots.
