Abubakar Adamu Emerges SDP Gubernatorial Candidate In Nasarawa
Former Inspector-General of Police, Abubakar Adamu, has been declared the sole candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State.
This followed a primary election held on Saturday at Taal Conference Hotel, Lafia.
Taal Conference Hotel, Lafia, was a sight to behold as thousands of SDP supporters from within and outside Nasarawa State converged to witness the primary election of the Social Democratic Party.
The election was conducted under the supervision of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
The SDP Electoral Committee Chairman in Nasarawa State, Barrister Achile Joseph Agu, after confirming that all requirements of the Electoral Act had been met, declared former Inspector-General of Police, Abubakar Adamu, as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party.
Speaking during the primary election, the presidential candidate of the SDP, Prince Adebayo Adeboye, alongside other party stalwarts, commended the resilience and determination of the party’s supporters and urged them to exhibit a high sense of decorum during the electioneering period.
Speaking shortly after being declared the SDP candidate, former Inspector-General of Police, Abubakar Adamu, appreciated everyone who contributed to his emergence as the party’s gubernatorial candidate and assured the people of better days ahead.
He also called on his supporters to shun the politics of hatred and bitterness.
