Ogazi Urges Ethnic Groups To Shun Division In Nasarawa
The Member Representing Kokona East Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and APC candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, has called on ethnic groups across Nasarawa State to shun divisive tendencies in the interest of peace, progress, and development.
Ogazi made the call while interfacing with the leadership and members of the Mada Development Association (MDA), Kokona Branch, in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area.
The meeting, which brought together traditional title holders, stakeholders, officials, and members of the Mada Development Association, MDA, Kokona Branch, was aimed at strengthening unity and promoting issues affecting the development of the community.
Speaking during the interaction at Kenneibeh Event Hall in Garaku, the Member Representing Kokona East Constituency and APC candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, explained that the interface was necessary to give an account of his stewardship and strengthen the relationship between the people and their representative.
He urged the people to place the collective interests of their communities above ethnic, religious, and political differences.
While urging the Mada people to see politics as a game of interest rather than one based on ethnicity or religion, the lawmaker advised them not to be misled by individuals whose interests do not reflect the aspirations of the people.
He stressed that division among ethnic groups could undermine development and urged the people to remain united in pursuing the progress of their communities.
He also highlighted some of his achievements in office, including robust legislation, employment opportunities, provision of boreholes, distribution of cars and motorcycles, as well as other empowerment initiatives.
He urged the people to support candidates based on their track records, capacity, competence, and experience, rather than religious or ethnic sentiments.
The APC candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency also used the opportunity to call on the Mada people in the area to support the ruling party.
He sought to clarify issues surrounding the APC candidacy for the constituency following the recently conducted primary election, as well as what he described as misleading videos circulating on social media.
He encouraged community leaders and members of the MDA to sustain constructive engagement and contribute their quota to the development of Kokona Local Government Area and Nasarawa State at large.
Commending Daniel Ogah Ogazi for what they described as impactful, inclusive, and quality representation, the Chairman of MDA Kokona Branch, Monday Luka, who spoke through the Youth Chairman, Kyune Cyrus Ndoh; the National President of MDA Women Wing, Mrs. Adama Amos; APC Chairman of Kokona, Terry Bado; Chief Ezekiel Wakayi; Dakaci Tattara; Augustine Silas; and others expressed appreciation for the interface.
They appealed for more support and patronage from the member and the ruling APC for the community, while pledging their continued support beyond the 2027 general elections.
