Plateau Government Urges Peace at Maulud
The Plateau State Government has felicitated Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a goodwill message, the government urged Muslims and other citizens to reflect on the values of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
The government also commended the Jos Annual Maulud Committee of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, for choosing the theme, “Emulating the Prophetic Way of Peace, Mutual Respect and Religious Freedom.”
It encouraged Muslims to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad by promoting understanding and peaceful relations across religious and cultural differences.
The Plateau State Government further appealed to religious and traditional leaders, community stakeholders and security agencies to work together towards strengthening peace and security in the state and the country.
It reaffirmed its commitment to working with communities and relevant institutions to promote peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
