Sule Swears in New Commissioners, Advisers and Permanent Secretaries
Government appointees and other public officers have been encouraged to remain patriotic and desist from all acts capable of undermining the interest of the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of eight new Commissioners, six Special Advisers and six Permanent Secretaries.
The eight newly appointed Commissioners were administered their oaths of office and allegiance by Governor Abdullahi Sule, setting the stage for the inauguration of the new Special Advisers and six Permanent Secretaries.
According to the Governor, the inauguration was part of his administration’s commitment to strengthening the machinery of government for optimum results.
Noting that the appointees were carefully selected based on their suitability to represent the state in their respective capacities, Governor Sule urged them to be frank and transparent in the discharge of the responsibilities entrusted to them.
He emphasised respect for the rules of the civil service, teamwork and commitment to duty as some of the key attributes that all political appointees must uphold in the course of their responsibilities.
While appreciating the State House of Assembly for the successful confirmation of the eight new Commissioners, the Governor also charged the newly inaugurated members of the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission and the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission to carry out their duties diligently and in the best interest of the state.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the newly inaugurated Commissioner of Information, Dr. Nawani Aboki, affirmed their commitment to contributing to good governance and supporting the administration in delivering on its mandate.
The event also featured the announcement of the portfolios assigned to all the newly appointed Commissioners in the state.
