The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources and Supervising Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Margaret Elayo, has distributed more than seven hundred mini bags of rice and cash assistance to vulnerable residents of Keana Local Government Area.

The relief items were distributed at the palaces of traditional rulers in communities across the local government.

Speaking during the exercise in Kwara, the APC Chairman of Keana Local Government Area, Usman Wakaso Shettima, said the gesture was aimed at providing immediate relief to vulnerable members of the community.

He commended Dr. Margaret Elayo for her humanitarian efforts and called on other stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.

During the distribution in Kadarko, Wakaso Shettima, alongside Dr. Idris Abdullahi Agbo, also called on APC members and supporters to strengthen their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They urged party members to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them participate fully in the electoral process.

At the palace of Osokadoko in Kadarko, several vulnerable residents received rice and cash donations. The exercise also coincided with the distribution of sanitary pads and other relief materials by the Wadada Youth Ambassadors.

The humanitarian gesture was extended to the palace of Sangarin Giza, where the Commissioner’s representative, Muhammad Salihu Maye, assured residents who had not yet benefited that additional supplies would be provided.

Some beneficiaries, including Sadiya Abdullahi, Franca Remond Ukeke and Halima Abdul, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner and appealed for the continuation of the initiative.
