Governor Abdullahi Sule says Nasarawa State has hidden young talents capable of bringing glory to the state through athletics and other sporting activities.

The Governor stated this while receiving Nasarawa State young tennis players who participated in the ITF-sanctioned International J30 World Tennis Tournament for junior athletes.

Appreciating the State Tennis Coach for focusing on developing the talents of young people, Governor Abdullahi Sule also congratulated the Nasarawa State Ministry of Sports for giving the sport the desired attention.

He said the establishment of a tennis academy would go a long way towards nurturing young talents in the state and across the country.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development underscored the Governor’s efforts towards developing sports in Nasarawa State, saying the opportunities being provided for young people to develop their tennis skills were encouraging.

The Commissioner also appreciated the Governor for the ongoing upgrade of the Lafia City Stadium and the recent award of contracts for the construction of mini-stadiums in Wamba, Doma, Toto, Kokona and Keffi Local Government Areas.

During the visit, the young tennis players presented the tennis rackets and other laurels they won at the ITF-sanctioned International J30 World Tennis Tournament for junior athletes.

The occasion also featured the endorsement of the A.A. Sule Tennis Foundation.

It was a unique opportunity for the young players to receive cash gifts from Governor Abdullahi Sule, who commended their efforts and encouraged them to sustain the tempo.
