Declaring the competition open, the Zenith Labour Party candidate for Lafia-Obi Federal Constituency, Mohammed El-Yakub, expressed confidence and optimism in the quality of players across the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

He charged the players to embrace peace and unity throughout the tournament and advocated greater investment in the sports industry.

The House of Representatives candidate explained that he would establish a football academy to promote grassroots football development.

He also cautioned youths against allowing themselves to be used by selfish politicians for activities that could undermine peace and unity in their communities.
