Attah Urges Doma Residents to Mobilise Votes for APC in 2027
The Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Information and Orientation, Dr Joseph Oboshi Attah, has called on the people of Doma Local Government Area to harness the strength of their votes by supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Dr Attah made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah Onawa, at his palace to seek royal blessings shortly after his swearing-in as Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Orientation.
Shortly after taking the oath of office, Dr Joseph Oboshi Attah returned to his home area to appreciate the Doma traditional institution and seek the blessings of the traditional ruler as he commenced his new responsibilities in the Nasarawa State Government.
Speaking at the palace of the Andoma of Doma, Dr Attah urged the people of the local government area to recognise the strength of their votes and use them strategically to attract greater government attention, development projects and other dividends of democracy to the area.
He expressed concern over what he described as the declining voting strength of Doma in recent elections, stressing that the number of votes recorded by a community for a political party or leader could influence the level of attention and development it receives from government.
Dr Attah called on the people of Doma to close ranks, set aside political differences and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged them to vote massively for the APC, arguing that a strong and united voting bloc would place Doma in a better position to negotiate for government projects, appointments and other developmental opportunities.
The Special Adviser stressed that unity and collective political participation were important tools for communities seeking to attract meaningful development and greater government presence.
Responding, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah Onawo, congratulated Dr Attah on his appointment and described the position as an opportunity for him to deploy his wealth of experience towards the development of Doma and Nasarawa State.
The traditional ruler noted that political leaders had a critical role to play in attracting government attention and developmental projects to their communities. He therefore called for unity of purpose among politicians and other stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations.
According to him, collective efforts remain essential if the people of Doma are to benefit more from democratic governance, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to undermine the overall interests and development of the area.
In their goodwill messages at a reception organised in honour of Dr Attah, the APC Chairman in Doma Local Government Area, Ibrahim Muhammad Adi; Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule, Alhaji Rilwanu Abubakar Khalid; former Commissioner for Commerce, Salihu Ali Enah; and other APC stalwarts commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing what they described as a competent and experienced indigene of Doma.
They pledged their support to Dr Attah in the discharge of his responsibilities and promised to mobilise support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders expressed optimism that Dr Attah’s appointment would further strengthen the relationship between Doma and the state government, while pledging to work towards the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
