The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Nasarawa State Command, has arrested two suspects in connection with alleged robbery and car theft.

The suspects were arrested in Shabu, Lafia East Area Administrative Council.

While parading the suspects at the State Command office, the Commandant, Brah Samson Umoru, said the corps acted on credible intelligence which led operatives to intercept Adamu Mohammed, a 68-year-old man, and Emmanuel Omaku, a 32-year-old man, while they were allegedly attempting to sell a suspected stolen vehicle.

The Commandant, who spoke through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Jerry Victor, said the following exhibits were recovered from the suspects: one Toyota Camry 2010 model, popularly known as Camry Muscle; two vehicle number plates, ABJ-289-CQ, Abuja, and LAF-761-AG, Nasarawa; one Moniepoint ATM card; one cutlass; and the sum of 169,500 naira in cash.

Brah Samson Umoru said a thorough investigation had commenced to establish the source and ownership of the recovered vehicle, determine the roles played by the suspects and identify any other connections to the alleged operation.

He added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other suspected members of the gang who are currently at large.

The Commandant further called on members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible and timely information to security agencies.

He stressed that effective security requires the collective support and cooperation of members of the public and security agencies.

Brah Samson Umoru assured that upon completion of the investigation, the suspects and any other persons found culpable would be charged before a competent court of jurisdiction for prosecution.

He stressed that the NSCDC remains committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state.
