Chinese Media Training: Thirty African Journalists Explore Strategies for Addressing Poverty and Underdevelopment

This sentiment was truly exemplified in the ongoing media training initiative where thirty African journalists from ten countries immersed themselves in the Chinese model of addressing poverty and underdevelopment.
The participating ten countries include Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Gambia, Zambia, Ghana, Kenya, Botswana, Benin, Ethiopia and South Africa.
The two week training, titled Seminar for Omni-media Journalists from English-speaking African Countries, provided participants with a deep dive into the rich history of China’s collective efforts in combating poverty, hunger, and underdevelopment.

During the training at Zhengyang Normal University in Jinhua, African journalists had the privilege of hearing firsthand from a senior Chinese government official, Prof. Zhang Genfu, the deputy director of the university Affairs Committee The official highlighted the pivotal role of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) as a unifying force for the nation.
He underscored the importance of leveraging China’s diverse population and cultural values to achieve development goals. Despite being in power for over a century, the CPC remains open to collaboration with opposition parties to further the nation’s development agenda.
This spirit of cooperation and inclusivity resonated with the African journalists, who saw it as a potential blueprint for fostering rapid development in their own countries.
