Toto Local Government Enjoys Peace and Unity

The Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has expressed satisfaction with the return of peace, unity, and understanding among the people of Bassa since their return to their ancestral home. He made this known while hosting the State Commissioner for Security and Sundry Matters, CP Usman Baba (Rtd), in the area.
Pharm. Yahaya emphasized the importance of peace in societal development and reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, unity, and development in the area, in line with Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision. He appreciated the peaceful disposition of the people, security agents, and Governor Sule, noting that the peace initiative is yielding expected results Âą.
The Chairman reported that peace has fully returned to the area, with people going about their daily businesses without hitches. Significant numbers of Bassa returnees have successfully registered and are rebuilding their lives peacefully in their villages.
Commissioner CP Usman Baba (Rtd) commended Governor Sule for his inclusive leadership style and called on the people to embrace peace, unity, and understanding for more development to thrive in the area. He also debunked claims that only a faction of the Bassa tribe had returned, stating that this was misleading information.
The Aguma Bassa, Dr. David Wodi Tukura, assured Governor Sule of their loyalty and support, reaffirming their resolve to live peacefully with other tribes in the area. He commended the Chairman’s efforts in sustaining peace and unity among the people.
In a related development, the Gadayako of Yelwa, Mr. Musa Abu Shekwo, has established a 10-man committee, “Fulani/Gbagyi Peace Initiative,” to promote peace among Fulani and Gbagyi communities in the area. The traditional ruler tasked committee members to operate with honesty, transparency, and accountability.
