NBS Hosts Global Workforce Nutrition, Pledging to Support Similar Organizations
Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) has pledged its support to organizations that are focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents in the state.
The General Manager of the station. Mr. Aloko Flashman made this known while playing host to a team from Global Workforce Nutrition Lead in his office in Lafia.
The General Manager of the station, Mr. Aloko Flashman who underscored the crucial role of media in promoting behavioral change through radio and TV programs, assured the team that NBS would continue to assist initiatives that are aimed at impacting the lives of the people positively.
Mr. Flashman who expressed delight with the radio program “My Rice Dish,” sponsored by Global Workforce, for its success in educating local farmers and the general population on improving yield and maintaining a nutritious diet, praised the valuable information shared through the program.
“We will continue to work hand in hand with any organization whose aims and objectives tally with massive production of food for our people in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large”.
Highlighting the purpose of their visit to assess the impact of their program, the Global Workforce lead for Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Dr. Barbel Weiligmann, lauded the collaboration between her organization and NBS and expressed the need for continued cooperation.

Dr. Weiligmann explained that their focus in Nigeria, particularly in Nasarawa state, is to promote nutrition in staple crops by engaging audiences through platforms like the “Farm Radio session”, an initiative that seeks to raise awareness about cultivating staple crops rich in essential nutrients like Vitamin A for improved nutrition.
