30,000 Bags of Rice Distributed to Vulnerable Residents as Nasarawa State Government Launches Food Relief Initiative

The Nasarawa State Government has kicked off the distribution of 30,000 bags of 10kg rice to different categories of people across the state. Governor Abdullahi Sule flagged off the distribution at the Government House parade ground, emphasizing that the initiative follows a request from the Dangote Foundation to ensure vulnerable individuals receive their share of the 1 million 10kg bags of rice being distributed nationwide.

To ensure the rice reaches the intended beneficiaries, Governor Sule explained that modalities have been put in place to employ a suitable method for distribution. Various groups, including the JNI, JIBWIS, CAN, WOWICAN, NUJ, and security agencies, have been allocated over 3,000 bags each. Additionally, each of the 13 local governments in the state will receive over 3,000 bags.

The General Manager, Community Relations of Dangote Farm in Tunga, Abdullahi Rilwan, highlighted that the rice distribution is a gesture by the Dangote Foundation aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals across the country.

Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Doctor Labaran Magaji, assured that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure the rice reaches the targeted persons across the 147 wards of Nasarawa.
