NUDB Warns Traders in Nasarawa South
Officer in Charge of Southern Zone at the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board NUDB, Alkasim Suleiman has warned traders and other business owners in Nasarawa State to stop blocking access roads and move to approved places for their business activities.
The Officer in Charge gave the warning during a setback clearing operation in Lafia as he explained that the exercise was organized to clear spaces illegally occupied by traders and other businesses as a measure to decongest Lafia metropolis.
He attributed most road accidents in the town to ejection of illegal structures at junctions and the roadsides, blocking road users’ view as well as obstructing traffic flow, especially during rush hours as he pledged to sustain the exercise.
Suleiman also frowned at the attitude of some traders who throw refuse on waterways, saying that such is the major cause of flooding during rainy season as it will no longer be tolerated by the board.
The setback operation team led by the zonal officer including other staff of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board and security agents started from Jos Road to roundabout and terminated at Koro market where 26 assorted items were seized.
