Former LP Presidential Candidate Visits Emir of Lafia
The Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage (retired), has called on politicians across the country to engage in politics that will usher in the much-needed growth and development to the country.
The Emir made the call while extending his warm hospitality to the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, and his entourage during their visit to Lafia as a gesture of gratitude.
The presidential candidate under the labour party in the 2023 election Mr. Peter Obi, accompanied by his delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir’s in Lafia, where they were welcomed by the Emir and other traditional chiefs of the state.
In an address the emir, Muhammad Sidi Bage emphasized the imperative for politicians to do away with all forms of sentiments and concentrate on political endeavors that directly impact the lives of the populace, irrespective of their affiliations.
The royal father stressed that electioneering is over, called on leaders at all levels to set aside their differences and collaborate towards fostering the growth and development of the nation just as he applauded Mr. Obi for expressing his gratitude to the people of Nasarawa state.
Stating the purpose of the visit, Peter Obi said it was to express his gratitude to the people of the state and to extend felicitations to the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan, pledging his support to the Emirate council and the residents of the state.
In addition, the former presidential candidate and his delegation inaugurated the drilling of a borehole near Karofi, adjacent the Lafia Emir’s palace. Mr. Obi explaining that the water project is a humanitarian initiative aimed at contributing to the well-being of the people of Lafia.
