Alago People Celebrates 2024 Odu Festival
Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mohammed Adamu Oyanki has urged Alago nation and other Nigerians to continue to embrace tradition and their cultural heritage to keep it alive considering its significance to social norms and values.
The member who represents Doma North constituency made the call during 2024 Odu festival in Doma Local government.
The Alago speaking people of Doma local government annually observe Odu festival in anticipation of raining season and this year’s event was graced by the deputy speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mohammed Adamu Oyanki who noted that the festival will enhance good moral values for present and future generations.
The member representing Doma North Constituency said the Odu festival also foster unity and peace among Alago nation and other ethnic groups in the state and called for its sustenance.
While urging his constituents to be prayerful for God’s intervention to overcome the challenges facing the country, the Deputy Speaker assured of his commitment to provide palliative to the people of his constituency to cushion the effect of the current hardship being faced by the people.
On his Part, the Andoma of Doma Aliyu Oga Onawo, rejoiced with his subjects for celebrating the Odu festival and urged the youth and other people of the area to embrace unity and peace at all times.
The first class traditional ruler also urged the youths to embrace entrepreneurship in order to be self-reliant and contribute positively to the development of the society.
In a related development, the Deputy Speaker Mohammed Adamu Oyanki commissioned a billboard constructed by Asseneshi Na Wole Chamber, Kanganuwa Doma in his honour Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo.
