The Federal Government has reiterated its focus towards addressing the economic challenges in the country through robust planning.

This was the take of Vice President, Kashim Shattima among other stakeholders at the just concluded Joined Planning Board and National Council on Development Planning meeting held at the Aliyu Akwe Doma banquet hall.

Vice President Kashim Shattima, represented by Tope Fashua the Special Adviser to the President in Economic Affairs said the event no doubt represents a unique platform that harmonize inputs that shapes the development ideals of the country, saying the outcome of the meeting will create desired impact.

Welcoming participants and stakeholders of the auspicious meeting, the host Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State noted the place of the event in putting in place realistic plans that are premised on achieving the improved economy of the country.

Maintaining that the theme for the meeting, State of the Nigerian Economy: Challenges, Options and Opportunities is not out of place, hence the need to back the resolutions of the meeting with realistic strategies

Rating high, the position of Nasarawa State in the performance index of the country, Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu underscored the importance of the JPB and NCDP meeting as it provides a platform to discuss and proffer solutions to the economic issues in the country, even as he highlights the reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in that regard, anchored on innovative, creative and transformational ideals.

Earlier, Munira Abdullahi, the host Commissioner for Finance and Planning, explained that discussions at the three forum were anchored on reforms that are necessary towards mitigating the impact of the current economic challenges in the country, as participants spread across Commissioners, Directors and key stakeholders in charge of planning at the States and Federal levels made credible inputs.

Apart from recognizing the event as a deliberate approach to assist government in the area of planning bearing in mind the population of the country, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Mohammed Aliyu Ubandoma key stakeholders that affirmed the need for the country to get it right.
