The 2024 Convention of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) Lafia Conference has come to a close, leaving attendees with a resounding message to remain steadfast in their worship of God amidst Nigeria’s current challenges.

According to Very Reverend Mark Abagi, Archdean of ERCC Lafia Conference, the convention aimed to remind Christians of their roles and the importance of perseverance in the face of societal challenges. This sentiment was echoed by Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Doctor Emmanuel Akabe, who urged citizens to uphold truth and utilize their talents for positive societal impact.

Guest speaker Rev. Aklo Samuel Luke emphasized the need for believers to trust and obey biblical teachings, particularly in assisting the less privileged during difficult times. Timothy David Ekuaka, chairman of the planning committee, expressed gratitude to contributors and confidence in the transformative power of the convention for believers’ lives.

The convention, which began on October 9, featured seminars, Bible studies, teachings and song ministrations by various singing groups. Meanwhile, at the Light House Covenant Church Ombi One Lafia, members gathered to worship God through songs of praise.

Pastor Femi Obasoto challenged believers to seek God’s knowledge and wisdom to overcome modern world trials and temptations. He emphasized the importance of studying the Bible to avoid false prophets and compromising one’s faith amidst hardship, reminding attendees that these challenges signal the end times.
