The Nasarawa State Network of people living with HIV/AIDS (NASNET) is encouraging its members to enroll in the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) program.

This call to action was made during a sensitization program held at the NASNET office in Shabu, which brought together members from the 13 local government areas of the state.

Dr. Ruth Bello, Executive Director of the Nasarawa State AIDS Control Agency, emphasized the importance of joining NASHIA, citing the decline in global aid for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

She highlighted the accessibility and affordability of NASHIA as key reasons for enrollment.

To make enrollment easier, Dr. Simon Istifanus Erick, Director of Planning, Research, Statistics, and ICT, explained the requirements and process for joining NASHIA at a lower cost.

This initiative is part of the current administration’s efforts to reduce hardship and increase health coverage.

Benefits of Enrollment

  • Access to affordable healthcare services
  • Reduced financial burden on individuals and families
  • Increased health coverage for people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Opportunities for community support and networking

Hamza Jonathan, Coordinator of NASNET, cautioned against stigmatizing people living with HIV/AIDS and encouraged affected individuals to take advantage of the NASHIA program for healthy living.

He also expressed gratitude to the Nasarawa State government for their support.

The sensitization program will be replicated across various local government areas to ensure widespread awareness and enrollment.

By joining NASHIA, people living with HIV/AIDS in Nasarawa State can access essential healthcare services and improve their overall well-being.
