Nigeria Association of Nurses Anaesthetist Calls for Provision of Modern Equipment for Quality Healthcare Service Delivery

Nigeria Association of Nurses Anaesthetist NANA has Advocated the need for government to provide modern Anaesthesia Equipment inline with global best practices to provide quality health care service delivery to people in Nigeria.

The was contained in a communique issued at the end of the 16th National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting held at Nurses House Lafia.

The 16th Scientific Conference and Annual General meeting of the Nigeria Association of Nurses Anaesthetist with the theme”Central Anaesthesia Consideration that ensures client’s life and safety”was organized by Nigeria Association of Nurse Anaesthetists with over fourty participants drawn from the thirty six states of the Federation including FCT in attendance.

The conference was aimed at deliberating on issues affecting members of the association with a view to addressing them and also find a way forward in terms of safety of clients under the care of anaesthetists, sharing knowledge, promoting excellence of practice and addressing challenges facing nurse Anaesthetists in Nigeria.

At the end of the five days Conference, the meeting commended government for according premium to the welfare of health Care personnel across the country and solicited for more welfare packages for members who often face hazards while discharging their duties.

The communique also resolved that government at all levels should intensify efforts in providing quality health care equipment to all hospitals to enable health care practitioners especially Anaesthetist Nurse perform effectively.

It emphasized the pivotal role Nurses Anaesthetist Play in the discharge of their responsibilities and advocated for training and retraining of members to update their knowledge based on modern Techniques of practices to provide quality health care services.

The communique also drew the attention of it’s members to always avoid sharp practices that may undermine the Nursing profession, stressing the importance of consistent safety for patients needing anaesthesia and reducing anaesthetic related complications.
