Court Adjourns PRP’s Suit Against APC’s Participation in Nasarawa Local Elections
The Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Doma has adjourned a suit filed by the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) seeking to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from participating in the forthcoming local government elections.
The presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Hassan Shanshama, set November 19 for the ruling. The PRP claims the APC’s state chairman and secretary appointments violate electoral laws.
Counsel for the PRP, Barrister Ebere Okafor, clarified that they’re not seeking to postpone the November 2 elections but rather ensuring a just process.
The defense counsel and the state Attorney General welcomed the court’s expedited hearing.
