Ibrahim Abdul Honored in China: Participates in Seminar for Omni Media Journalists from English-Speaking African Countries
In the words of a popular adage, “Whatever has a beginning surely must have an end.” After two weeks of intensive training, the journalists, now certified participants, completed the seminar sponsored by Zhejiang Normal University, which took place from October 31st to November 13th in Jinhua, People’s Republic of China.
Ibrahim Abdul, a representative of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) in Lafia, Nigeria, was among those honored.
The closing ceremony, which celebrated the journeys of journalists from ten various English-speaking African countries, was attended by esteemed academics from Zhejiang Normal University.
In their remarks, they praised the sportsmanship, consistency, patience, and resilience exhibited by the journalists throughout the rigorous training. They assured participants that their institution is eager to welcome students interested in pursuing further studies.
For Ibrahim Abdul, the opportunity to participate in this enlightening event, which focused on developing digital content and agenda-setting, is not merely a personal achievement; he credits the success to several key figures.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his father, Silas Agara, the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, for his unwavering support; to the organizers at Zhejiang Normal University, and to Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) for facilitating his participation.
Additionally, he acknowledged the moral support received from Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule through WhatsApp messages, as well as from friends, relatives, colleagues at NBS, and his wife, Asmau Nasidy, for their prayers and encouragement.In his closing remarks, Ibrahim stated, “I am grateful to our Chinese hosts for their unwavering diligence, warm hospitality, and remarkable tolerance throughout our seminar.
The wealth of knowledge and experience shared was truly invaluable. Thank you for making this experience enriching and memorable.”As he prepares to leave China, Ibrahim reflects on this journey with pride, saying, “We came, we saw, and we conquered.”
