Nasarawa State Commissioner Urges Youth Corps Members to Promote National Unity

Commissioner for Youth Development, Jafaru Ango, has tasked youth corps members posted to Nasarawa State to work towards the unity of the country. This assertion was made during the declaration of the 2024 NYSC Batch C Stream One Orientation Course at the Magaji NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi.

Commissioner’s Address

Jafaru Ango emphasized the importance of the corps members’ contributions to national building, considering their presence in the state as vital. He urged them to be dedicated and committed to the teachings and camp activities to enable them to translate their learning to the society.

State Government Support

The commissioner reiterated that the state government, under Governor Abdullahi Sule, has put measures in place to guarantee the corps members’ security, enabling them to perform their primary assignment as expected.

NYSC Coordinator’s Remarks

Nasarawa State NYSC Coordinator, Salamatu Muhammad, stated that the program aims to impact corps members with knowledge and skills. She urged them to respect NYSC rules and guidelines, participate in all camp activities, particularly the SAED program, which nurtures future leaders.

Oath of Allegiance

The Nasarawa State Chief Judge, Aisha Aliyu Bashir, represented by Justice Mustapha Ramat, administered the oath of allegiance to the corps members. They were charged to respect constituted authorities, abide by laws of the land, and warned against participating in activities detrimental to their development.
