Nasarawa Commissioner Calls for End to Strike
Mu-azu Adamu Gosho, Commissioner for Works, Housing and Urban Development in Nasarawa State, has appealed for mutual understanding between the Organized Labour and the State Government to end the ongoing strike. This call was made during a visit from members of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Lafia branch, who embarked on a road walk as part of their Engineering Week activities.
The road walk, which started from NUDB and ended at the State Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, featured members carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Say No to Quackery, Yes to Professionalism” and “Food for All Engineers, Making it Happen.”
Dr. Simon Ibi, Director of Civil Engineering, represented Commissioner Gosho and emphasized the importance of upholding engineering ethics to reduce building collapses. He also used the opportunity to call for mutual understanding between striking workers and the government to achieve industrial harmony.
