ERCC President Urges President Tinubu to Implement Economic Reforms
The President of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Very Reverend Dave Denji, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement practical measures that will strengthen the economy, enabling businesses and individuals to thrive amidst the current suffering in the country.
Speaking with journalists at the ERCC Headquarters in Alushi near Akwanga, Very Reverend Denji expressed concern about the suffering faced by citizens and stressed the need for the government to reassess some of the country’s economic policies that are exacerbating the challenges.
He appealed to the government to implement measures that will boost the economy, such as improving the business environment, increasing investments in key sectors, and enhancing human capital development. These measures, he believes, will enable businesses and individuals to flourish and contribute to the country’s economic growth ¹.
Very Reverend Denji also commended the government’s efforts to address security challenges, but emphasized that more needs to be done to improve the security situation. He called on Nigerians to continue to pray and support the government and other constituted authorities, believing that with concerted efforts, Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger.
In addition, Very Reverend Denji highlighted the ERCC’s commitment to initiatives that provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for its members, ensuring that they are not just spiritually fulfilled but also economically stable. He emphasized the importance of staff welfare, education, evangelism, and healthcare in achieving this goal.
Overall, Very Reverend Denji’s call to action emphasizes the need for the government to implement economic reforms that will benefit all Nigerians, while also highlighting the importance of collective efforts in addressing the country’s challenges.
