Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to revitalizing the agricultural sector in the state. This commitment was made known during the 50th Annual Conference of the Nigeria Society for Animal Production, held at the Federal University of Lafia.

Represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Umaru Tanko Tunga, Governor Sule emphasized the significance of animal production in driving economic growth and development in the state. The conference, themed “Exploring Transformation in Animal Agriculture for Food Security, Wealth Creation and Economic Growth,” provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss ways to improve animal production in the state.

Governor Sule acknowledged the critical role agriculture plays in ensuring food security, wealth creation, and economic growth. He expressed optimism that the conference would yield valuable insights and solutions for sustainable animal agricultural development in Nigeria.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting innovations that will transform animal agriculture, urging participants and stakeholders to collaborate in building a resilient and inclusive livestock industry. This commitment is in line with the state’s efforts to develop its agricultural sector, as evidenced by the recent harvest of 10,000 hectares of rice in the state.
