SSG Urges APC Support Groups to Focus on Issue-Based Campaigns
The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Labaran Magaji Shuaibu, SAN, has called on All Progressives Congress, APC, support groups and mobilisers to shun campaigns of calumny and instead engage in issue-based rural community awareness on the policies and programmes of the present administration in the country.
He stated this while playing host to the amalgamated associations under the “A Renewed Hope Agenda” in his office in Lafia.
Labaran Magaji Shuaibu, SAN, while addressing members of the amalgamated associations under the “A Renewed Hope Agenda,” said the state government would continue to support groups interested in promoting unity through genuine engagements aimed at attracting development to the state.
The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State encouraged members of the groups to avoid campaigns of character assassination and calumny, urging them instead to engage in issue-based awareness on the achievements, policies and programmes of the government, which he said were evident in infrastructural development across the state and the country.
He informed the amalgamated associations under the “A Renewed Hope Agenda” that the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule was focused on uniting the people of Nasarawa State despite differences in ethnic and religious interests.
He therefore urged the group members to remain steadfast in contributing to the victory of the All Progressives Congress flag bearers in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
Earlier, the leader of the group and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Political Affairs, Ahmed Mohammed Oyoyo, said their visit was aimed at seeking the input of the SSG on how they could contribute to the campaign for the victory of the APC in the general election.
He expressed the members’ readiness to galvanise support from rural communities, considering what he described as the impactful leadership style of the APC in the country.
Also speaking, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Apex Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Isaac Kigbu, reaffirmed the readiness of the amalgamated groups to mobilise communities at the grassroots for the victory of all APC candidates in the general elections.
He cited the impact of the party in the state, particularly in rural farming communities, where he said farmers can now transport their agricultural produce to urban centres with greater ease.
