Panda-Gitata Road Construction Set To Begin
The Nasarawa State Government says it is set to commence the construction of the Panda-Gitata Road.
This came to the fore when Governor Abdullahi Sule visited Panda in preparation for the commencement of work on the road.
Governor Abdullahi Sule said the project is one that he holds close to his heart because of the socio-economic benefits it will bring to the people, particularly as it will serve as an alternative route connecting the state with the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Governor noted that although previous efforts to construct the road had been stalled, his administration is committed to ensuring that the project is completed before the end of his tenure.
Explaining that his visit was aimed at obtaining firsthand information about the condition of the road, Governor Sule said negotiations with the contractors were ongoing. He therefore called on the people of the area to support the government’s efforts to provide basic social amenities for the communities.
Appreciating the Governor for responding to the plight of the people, the Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, Abubakar Madaki, and the Odion Nyankpa, Barrister Joel Aninge, assured the government of their support for the project.
The duo highlighted the benefits of the road to the people of Nasarawa State and beyond, particularly in addressing traffic challenges and improving security. They said that, when completed, the road would also stimulate socio-economic activities across the axis.
Meanwhile, good times await commuters and other road users along the Mararaba-Nyanya Highway following Governor Abdullahi Sule’s visit to the ongoing project.
The Governor’s visit further underscores his commitment to the timely completion of the project, as the contractors continue to work towards linking the two flyovers.
Governor Sule further urged Triacta Nigeria Limited to intensify efforts to ease the traffic difficulties that have continued to characterise the Mararaba-Nyanya axis.
