The First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, has cautioned political actors against backbiting and divisive politics.

She gave the warning on Sunday in Gudi during an empowerment programme organised by the Manya Mata Initiative.

Addressing beneficiaries and community leaders, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule said leadership at all levels must be guided by compassion and truth. She also urged women to remain prayerful and support government programmes aimed at poverty reduction, healthcare and education in Nasarawa State.

In goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Rebecca Kpaji; the Governor’s daughter, Hussaina Abdullahi Sule; and the member representing Uke/Karshi State Constituency, Saidu Gude, commended Manya Mata for the initiative.

They called on other groups to emulate the gesture for the overall development of the state, noting that Governor Abdullahi Sule has transformed Nasarawa and placed it on the world map.

Other speakers, including Khalid Yusuf Sule and the Councillor representing Gudi Electoral Ward, Haruna Ibrahim, also praised the initiative and pledged to sustain the message of peaceful politics ahead of future elections.

The Coordinator of Manya Mata Initiative, Rabi Ibrahim Mai Abinci, said the programme was designed to cushion the economic hardship faced by widows and restore dignity to families that have lost their breadwinners.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the empowerment, saying the gesture would help reduce their suffering.
