Oyanki Empowers Vulnerable Women In Doma
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, has distributed sewing machines, grinding machines and cash worth fifteen million naira to vulnerable women in Doma Local Government Area.
The empowerment programme took place at his residence in Doma over the weekend.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, said the initiative was aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship on the people. He urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the items to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
Oyanki, who described women as the backbone of political mobilisation, also urged them to support Senator Ahmad Aliyu Wadada and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying such support would help attract more dividends of democracy to the people.
SOT: “As far as I’m concerned, we don’t have any competition in Nasarawa State. Wadada, Wadada, APC from up to top.”
Speaking on the need for Oyanki’s re-election, the APC Chairman in Doma, Ibrahim Muhammad Adi; Director-General of the Oyanki Campaign Organisation, Ahmad Usman Tanko; and Doma APC Women Leader, Halima Ibrahim Kwanya, called on eligible voters in the local government to come out en masse, irrespective of political affiliations, and support the Deputy Speaker.
