NURTW Boss Attributes Reduction in Road Accident to Dualization of Keffi-Makurdi Road

Dualization of Keffi-Makurdi road is one of the measures that has reduced road carnage in recent times.

Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Nasarawa State Chapter Muhammad Maikwarya made the assertion during the inauguration of newly elected officials of eleven branches of the Union in Keffi Local Government Area held at Chindo Yamusa Square, Keffi.

The joint combined inaugurations of newly elected officials of eleven branches in Keffi and twenty in Karu Local Government Areas attended by critical stakeholders of transport industry to include state former chairmen of the union, Aliyu Ibrahim, Bala Gwaska, Salihu Adamu as well as the pioneer State chairman of the union, Alhaji Sule Sidi.

Addressing the newly elected officials, State Chairman of NURTW, Muhammad Maikwarya attributed the reduction on road carnage to the past Federal Government administration’s efforts in dualizing Keffi-Makurdi road.

Maikwarya urged the new officials to adhere strictly to the oath taken and carry everyone along in the discharge of their duties, warning members against sabotaging the efforts of their leaders.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Executive Chairman of Keffi Local Government Council, Baba Shehu, representatives of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, House of Representatives member, Jonathan Gaza all lauded the contributions of NURTW towards improving socio-economic growth of the country and advised the new officials to be just in their dealings.
