Consultant Advices Women with Birth Challenges to Embrace IVF

Women with birth challenges have been advice not to stay away from In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), following some misconceptions by members of the public.

Chief Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynecologist with Federal Medical Centre Makurdi, Dr. Paulinus Abu gave the advice in his office while interacting with journalists said the IVF success rate is medically and globally accepted between 30-35 percent as normal. 

The Gynaecologist who is also the Chief Medical Director of Pishon Women Specialist Clinic, Makurdi attributed failure and death related to IVF to some form of Sharp practices by professionals to save cost.

Dr. Abu revealed some of the achievements and successes recorded by the clinic over the years, which includes, free medical services to the Displaced Persons at Abagena Agan camp along Makurdi-Lafia road, and the emergence of the overall best in Laparoscopic surgery recently in Africa.
