Authorities of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service say they are working tirelessly to resume full transmission following a thunderstorm that wreck havoc on the station’s transformer.

Executive Vice Chairman of the Media Outfit, Awwalu Salihu made this known while defending the station’s budget at the state house of Assembly.

The Management of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service NBS appeared before the house standing committee on Information to defend the 2024 budget where the EVC Awwalu Salihu revealed that the station has cut hours of transmission due to the thunderstorm that wreck havoc on the station’s transformer and hike in the price of diesel but is working on address the challenges.

After perusing the station’s budget with suggestions and recommendations, the chairman, house committee on information, Jonah Ali Dizaho commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his quick intervention on challenges facing the state and promised to carry the management along on a legislative bill of the station before the house of assembly.

Meanwhile, contractors handling the rehabilitation of the 48 kilometer Toto-Umashia road have appeared before the house committee on Works where delay on release of fund and inflation are said to be the reasons delaying the completion of the work with the chairman of the committee, tasking the contractors to complete the rehabilitation before the end of the year.

On education, Management of state ministry of Education, state Universal Basic Education Board and Teachers Services Commission appeared before the House committee on Education to defend their budget where the chairman of the committee Abel Bala commended the state governor for recruiting teachers to up the gains of the education sector of the state.

On sports, the house standing committee on sports queried the performance of the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development in projects execution and revenue generation but the chairman of the committee, Mohammed Garba Isimbabi commended the performance of the state female football team, the Amazons and challenged the male counterparts, the Solid Miners to make the state proud by returning to the premier League.
