Gom Mama Anniversary Celebration Shines Light on the Role of Cultural Activities in Nasarawa State

Engaging in cultural activities has been identified as a significant method for revitalizing the rich cultural norms and values of communities in Nasarawa State.

These were the views of Speakers during the fifth Anniversary celebration of Gom Mama Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams. Reports shows that the event took place at the Gom Mama’s palace Kwarra Farin Ruwa Development Area.

The event, which brought together traditional rulers from various parts of the state and beyond, provided opportunity to discuss ways of reviving cultural heritage of communities in the state.

Setting the tone for the discussions, the Emir of Karshi, Professor Muhammad Sani Bako, emphasized the collective effort required to safeguard and cherish cultural legacies and commended the Gom Mama for living up to expectations in the last five years.

The Sangarin Shabu Alhaji Mahmud Bwalla who represented the Emir of Lafia, and the Chun Mada Samson Gamu Yare lauded the remarkable leadership of Gom Mama Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams for fostering peace and harmony among communities in the area and also called on government to ensure timely completion of the Farin Ruwa project to drive development in the area.

Ran Jhar from Kanam Local Government Area in Plateau state, Alhaji Muhammad Maikano, emphasized the shared identity between the Kantana and Jar people, advocating more collaboration to support the paramount ruler of Mama Chiefdom.

The Gom Mama Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams said the event was to unify communities and promote peace, pledging continued dedication to serving his people selflessly.

In their remarks, the Overseer of Farin Ruwa Development Area, Solomon Gbande, and the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Yakubu Abdul Hamid Kwarra, expressed gratitude to all that contributed to the success of the event.
