Former Awe LG Chairman, Usman Umar, Backs APC Consensus Candidate
Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government election, Dr. Usman Umar, immediate past Chairman of Awe Local Government Council, and his supporters have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its consensus candidate, Umar Abubakar Dan-Akano.
This declaration was made during a rally organized to welcome Dr. Umar back home after his successful three-year tenure in Awe. The rally, attended by a large number of political associates, relatives and supporters, demonstrated their love, support and concern for the former Chairman.
Dr. Umar expressed gratitude to his supporters and applauded Governor Abdullahi Sule’s decision on the consensus candidate, stating that leadership comes from God. He pledged his loyalty to the party and candidate, urging his supporters to shun sentimental tendencies and provide maximum support.
Yusuf Aliyu Turaki, former Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, described Dr. Umar as a dedicated and God-fearing servant. Turaki encouraged Dr. Umar to view his inability to secure a second term as divine and called on Awe LGA residents to support the government and consensus candidates for the area’s growth and development.
Rally organizers, Abubakar Abdullahi and Mtebe Hycent Friday, highlighted the event’s purpose: showcasing support for Dr. Umar and the government, acknowledging his interventions, particularly in security, during his tenure.
Notably, Umar Abubakar Dan-Akano, the APC consensus candidate, has previously served as Commissioner for Agriculture in Nasarawa State.
