Lafia Residents Score Governor Sule High on Road Constructions
A Chinese old adage says, “Development begins from the road” and it is for this reason that government at all levels across the world accord priority to road constructions.
Our Correspondent on Special Assignment Yahaya Yusuf has x-rayed Governor Abdullahi Sule’s efforts on road constructions in the first year of his second tenure.
Road is one of the pivotal social infrastructure required for a modern society to thrive as it enables smooth transportation human as well as goods and services.
In addition to infrastructural development, road improves accessibility and connectivity between rural and urban communities, boost economic development, brings about employment opportunities, safer transportation and environmental benefits.
Having highlighted its significance, Nasarawa state which is on the roadmap to becoming a hub for solid minerals, agricultural and energy hub, there is high demand for more access road network not only to ease free flow of traffic but to also attract and provide a safe haven for local, national and foreign investors .
This among other things necessitated the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule to mobilize resources for the construction of network of roads coupled with the ongoing construction of Lafia flyover and underpass which will go a long way to improving the Aesthetics Lafia the state capital.
Some of these road construction across the state capital include dualization of Shendam Road, Sadami Street linking Almakura Street, Haruna Lawyer Road which links to Shendam and Lafia-East Roads, Federal High Court, Lafia linking to Musa Ilu Street, construction of road linking GRA with Bukan-Ari Street , ongoing Tudun Abu Road Construction linking the community to Shendam and Government House Roads among others.
Residents in Lafia the state capital, Sunusi Na’Allah, Allison Ogoshi Peter Aliyu Mamam and Alhaji Muhammed Sa’edu Maishasha expressed gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule for the giant steps in Infrastructural development, with particular reference to road networking which has reduced congestion in the urban city.
“The rapid construction of road all over Lafia is indeed overwhelming to all the residents its a boot for us and all commercial activities.”
“we also want to appreciate the work the governor has now been doing in Lafia with construction of flyover.”
“Actually it’s a giant developmental stride most especially if you look at the road construction you will see that a lot of things are happenings.”
Just like Oliver Twist, the residents equally appealed to the governor as he is about to complete his one year tenure, that there are other parts of the state capital that needs urgent attention adding that once it rains the area are exposed to erosion considering the bad nature of road network.
” We will like to appeal to the governor as well to consider Abdullahi Adamu Estate Road that links to Shinge Market, the road is a commercial hub in Lafia.”
“As an association we are appealing to the governor regarding the poor nature of the road in Rice mill.”
“.. Construction of roads like this I think it will be nice if other villages will also have feeder roads that wil link them to the state capital due to food production”.
NBS news crew equally interacted with Nasarawa state Commissioner for Works and Transport Adamu Gosho and the Managing Director Nasarawa Urban Development Board Engineer Wada Muhammed both revealed that the Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration shall leave no stone unturned in making sure that more dividends of democracy is delivered to the people.
“In the pipeline every local government will be giving his own share of the road construction as well within the local government headquarters apart from that government has through the ministry of works and transport designs some roads that are linking up one city to other. “
Wada said, “More work are coming up in all the local government area especially those that have the tendencies of causing damages as a result of expected flood”
While congratulating the governor as he is about to clock one year in office the duo sued for peaceful co-existence and solicited the support of the people for Governor Abdullahi Sule to enable him to bring more development to the state.
