Facelift Ordered for Lafia Special School by Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe

Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe has directed the state Ministry of Works to carry out a comprehensive report on the infrastructure of the Lafia special school with a view to giving it a facelift.

He gave the directive shortly after inspecting the damage done at the special school as a result of the recent windstorm in Lafia.

Assessing the damage done to the Lafia Special school by the recent windstorm, the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe underscored the essence of the Special school, noting that government would take necessary measures  to secure both staff and  students with special needs.

According to him, the school’s strategic role in modeling children with special needs in the society has compelled government to take proactive measures in making the facility conducive for teaching and learning.

He however tasked the Commissioner for works to ensure relevant areas of attention are effectively captured in a report to be submitted to Governor Abdullahi Sule for appropriate action.

In a related development, the state deputy governor inspected a bridge along Kurikyo Road in Lafia metropolis which was damaged by flood, assuring residents that the state government would  come to their aid.

Away from the bridge along Kurukyo road, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe was at the Lafia Township Stadium where he motivated Nasarawa United players ahead of the Super Eight tournament in Enugu which is expected to bring the team back to the Nigeria Premier League. He felicitated with the team for making it to the Super Eight, saying their return to the top-flight league would make the state proud and urged the players to focus on winning all the matches just as he assured of government’s continuous support.
