Nasarawa State Traditional Ruler Pledges Support for ACRESAL Project
The Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah, has pledged the Doma Traditional Council’s support for the Nasarawa State Agro Climatic Resilience and Semi Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) project. This commitment aims to boost agricultural production in the state by supporting farmers.
During a sensitization visit by the state ministry of Environment and Natural resources, the Andoma of Doma acknowledged the positive impact of the ACRESAL project on farmers’ lives. He emphasized the need for access to loans and modern farming techniques to ensure food security in the society.
The ACRESAL project, part of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) initiative, focuses on promoting sustainable landscape management practices in northern Nigeria. The project has been supporting farmers in Nasarawa State through revolving loans and capacity-building initiatives.
In a separate meeting with seventeen Community Interest Groups, the representatives expressed gratitude for the revolving loans and pledged to repay them promptly. ACRESAL officials, including Ahmed Egaide and Jessica Ishaku, expressed optimism about the beneficiaries’ commitment to repaying the loans.
