The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two suspects, Auwal Sani and Abdul Ismaila, for alleged house burglary and cattle rustling in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The suspects were paraded during a press conference at the NSCDC’s Keffi area office.

Auwal Sani, a 31-year-old ex-convict from Kaduna State, was arrested on February 1, 2025, at the NTA junction in Keffi. His accomplices are still at large. The successful arrest was made possible through the joint efforts of the NSCDC’s Iya 1 and 2 divisions, in collaboration with a team from Man”O”War in Keffi.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC state Command, DSC Jerry Victor, Auwal Sani originally hails from Kaduna State but has been residing in Mararaba, Karu LGA. He regained his freedom just two months ago.

Abdul Ismaila, the second suspect, was arrested on January 31, 2025, for allegedly rustling over 12 cows from Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area, Kaduna State. He was later captured while trying to evade authorities in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The suspects will face charges in a competent court upon completion of the investigation. DSC Jerry Victor assured that the command remains resolute in its commitment to combating crime and criminality.

This development comes as part of the NSCDC’s efforts to tackle crime and insecurity in Nasarawa State. The command has been working tirelessly to apprehend suspects and bring them to justice.
