Nasarawa State Head of Service, Barrister Abigail Waya

Nasarawa State Head of Service, Barrister Abigail Waya, emphasized the vital roles drivers play in public service during an orientation program for drivers in state ministries, departments, and agencies. The event, held at the Ministry for Local Government, Community Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs in Lafia, aimed to enhance drivers’ skills and promote road safety.

Barrister Waya commended drivers for their contributions to public service and the safety of government officials. She encouraged participants to stay updated on the latest driving trends to improve their skills and ensure safety on the roads. Waya also cautioned drivers against reckless driving, emphasizing the importance of observing traffic rules and regulations.

Chief Route Commander Andrew Daniel of the Federal Road Safety Corps delivered a lecture on “The Driver as a Safety Expert, Enhancing Efficiency and Emergency Preparation on Nigerian Roads.” He stressed the need for drivers to respect traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of their principals and other road users.

The event was attended by top government officials, including permanent secretaries and directors.
