Sule Inspects Lafia Stadium Upgrade
The Nasarawa State Government has commenced the upgrading of the football pitch at the Lafia City Stadium as part of efforts to bring the facility up to international standards ahead of the commencement of the Nigeria National Premier League.
Governor Abdullahi Sule inspected the ongoing work at the stadium to assess the level of progress and the contractor’s commitment to completing the project on schedule.
During the inspection, the Governor observed that work on the replacement of the artificial turf on the football pitch was progressing steadily. He also expressed confidence in the contractor’s determination to deliver the project within the agreed timeframe.
Governor Sule also visited the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre in Lafia to assess the progress of the long-delayed project.
The Governor expressed concern over the failure of the contractor to properly execute the landscaping and comply with some of the project specifications.
He therefore directed that all outstanding works must be properly completed before the project is officially handed over to the state government.
