NBS Staff Complete Emotional Intelligence Training
The two-week training on emotional intelligence for staff of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, NBS, has ended with a call on participants to recognise, understand and effectively manage their emotions as well as those of their colleagues.
The final batch of the training had participants drawn from the Administration and Supply Department, while the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Tina Cyril, urged staff of the station to reflect on what they had learned and apply the knowledge in their personal and interpersonal relationships.
The Director encouraged the participants to make conscious efforts to improve their interactions with colleagues and others by applying the principles and lessons gained during the training.
The resource person, Mr. Babatunde Oladipo, said participants must understand and embrace values such as trust, patience, compassion, empathy, relationship-building and active listening in their daily interactions with colleagues and other people.
He explained that emotional intelligence was important in creating healthier working relationships, improving communication and managing situations effectively in the workplace.
Some of the staff who spoke during the training expressed gratitude to the management of the station for providing them with the opportunity to participate in the programme.
They pledged to apply the knowledge gained from the training, particularly in controlling and effectively managing their emotions and improving their relationships with colleagues.
