Pastor Calls for Total Surrender to God’s Purpose
The Pastor in charge of ERCC Kurikiyo, Lafia, Meshack Awuta Bashayi, has identified total surrender to the fundamental purpose of God as a key solution to the challenges affecting human existence.
The Pastor stated this while delivering the Sunday sermon at the ERCC Number One Bukan Sidi, Lafia.
The Sunday church service at ERCC Number One Bukan Sidi, Lafia, which is part of the church’s regular weekly spiritual activities, provided an opportunity for the faithful to come together for worship, reflection and renewed dedication to God.
In his sermon, Pastor Meshack Awuta Bashayi, who is in charge of ERCC Kurikiyo, Lafia, an extension of ERCC Number One Bukan Sidi, noted that the uncertainty affecting some marriages today could be linked to a refusal to surrender to the fundamental principles of God.
He encouraged believers to understand God’s purpose for their lives and remain committed to it even when faced with difficult circumstances.
Citing the story of Joseph in the Holy Bible, who was betrayed by his brothers but eventually forgave them because he understood God’s purpose for his life, Pastor Bashayi charged believers to also recognise the purpose of God in their own lives.
He explained that understanding and following God’s purpose could help individuals overcome disappointments, betrayal and other difficulties while maintaining their faith.
The Christian cleric also noted that the Holy Bible provides numerous examples of God’s miraculous guidance and protection.
He cited the journey of the people of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses as an example of how God could guide and protect His people even in difficult circumstances.
Pastor Bashayi therefore encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in their faith and to stand still in moments when all hope appears to be lost, trusting in God for divine intervention and guidance.
He also advised parents and guardians to take the upbringing of their children and wards seriously, stressing that proper moral and spiritual upbringing would help prepare them for a better future.
He said responsible parenting was important not only for the future of individual families but also for the church and society at large.
