The Federal Government has assured the International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD, that it has set aside funds to pay counterpart funds for implementing the Federal Government and IFAD agricultural support programme.

The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi disclosed this at the sidelines of the FGN and IFAD Cooperation Portfolio Review and Exhibition held in Abuja.

Senator Abdullahi affirmed the Federal government’s commitment to strengthening its synergy with the development Bank, saying the partnership between them will yield results in food production, job creation as well as boosting the rural economy.

He further explained that the essence of the review was to identify the gaps, tackle challenges and adopt mechanisms that will make it easier for IFAD to assist the country with a portfolio program.
