Curbing the Activities of Land Speculators Yielding Required Results – Nasarawa State Ministry of Land
Authorities of the state ministry of land and Urban Development said their strategies of curbing the activities of land speculators is yielding the required results.
Commissioner of the ministry Ibrahim Bala Mulki disclosed this while appearing before the house of assembly committee on land and survey to defend their expenditure in the first quarter of the year.
When the state commissioner for Land and Urban Development, Ibrahim Bala Mulki appeared before the house committee on land and survey for budget assessment, he highlighted the activities of land speculators, indiscriminate usage of land devoid of master plans, land degradation among others as constraints undermining land administration in the state.
But he was quick to notify the committee that the strategies adopted by the ministry to curtail the challenges are yielding the required results, adding that the he will not relent in implementing policies that will add value to land in the state.
To this end, the Commissioner, Ibrahim Bala noted that inadequate manpower, lack of modern working tools, and operational vehicles are factors affecting the workings of the ministry and appealed for intervention.
After perusing the budget of the ministry, the Chairman house committee on land and survey Emmanuel Ezekiel Manding commended the ministry for being transparent and accountable in the management of its resources, and promised to intervene on their challenges.
The committee’s chairman commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for prioritising land and urban development in the state, urging the ministry to do more for the benefits of the people and for the overall development of the state.
