Sector Commander Identifies Factors Responsible for Road Accidents

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nasarawa State Command, Lucie Samuel Mhii has identified safety regulations, drug use, negligence, reckless driving, and overloading as some of the factors responsible for road accidents.

She stated this during a visit to the State Chairman of the Nasarawa State APC, Aliyu Bello in Lafia, Thursday.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nasarawa State Command, Lucie Samuel Mhii said the purpose of their visit, as to seek collaboration in monitoring and regulating the activities of motorists and road users, with the aim of developing effective strategies to reduce accidents on the highways.

According to Lucie, the focus is on educating individuals about road safety practices, promoting discipline among motorists, and addressing issues such as vehicle theft and other related challenges.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nasarawa State Command, Lucie Samuel Mhii pointed out various factors contributing to road accidents, including failure to adhere to safety regulations, drug use, negligence, reckless driving, and overloading.

She emphasized the need for a coordinated effort between the government, stakeholders, and the sector to enforce road traffic regulations effectively through public awareness campaigns and cooperation to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for all road users.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the Nasarawa State APC, Aliyu Bello reaffirmed the party’s dedication to collaborating with various agencies and organizations aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of the state’s citizens.

Grateful for the visit, Aliyu Bello said both the party and government will partner with the state command of the road safety and other related organizations to ensure the safety of motorists and road users on the highways.
